Les « sociétés d’eau » : l’éducation à l’environnement dans une favela communautaire à Rio de Janeiro

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the environmental education that emerges from the community process of gathering and distribution water held in the Formiga Hill, North Zone of Rio de Janeiro, the so-called Water Societies. From residents’ interviews, participant observation and documentary analysis, this article proposes to understand how the residents organize themselves around the water producing community-based environmental education strategies around the management of water resource.
