Abstract
Speaking in April 2016, legal scholar Adrien K. Wing raised a series of questions that today seem to belong to an entirely different world. Is the body of legal scholarship known as ‘Critical Race Theory,’ she asked, a mere frill in the law school curriculum, given that no institutions designate it as a degree requirement and no states specify it as a topic on their bar exams? Is it, in other words, ‘already dead’ and ‘of merely historic interest’? Or, despite its clear marginality to the institutions and profession of American law, she wondered, might it nevertheless have a future anyway?
