Abstract
Terrorism occurs on a regular basis, and the arrest of terrorists does not guarantee that it will stop. Goals of this study is to find out and examine the application of the principles of Islamic law in the implementation of deradicalization to straighten the meaning of jihad which is the reason terrorists commit criminal acts. Documentary investigation is used in conjunction with a normative juridical procedure and secondary data collection techniques. Terrorism is classified as extraordinary crime and a crime against humanity. Terrorism is strongly linked to "jihad," with the goal of enforcing religion law. Jihad means "energy, effort, or strength" in the sense of struggling to repel enemy attacks. The principles of Islamic law include those that are consistent with the Qur'an. Deradicalization is a counter-terrorism strategy aimed at radically changing terrorist groups' ideology, with the goal of gradually changing someone who was once a radical into a non-radical with a "soft approach" and straightening out the wrong meaning of jihad.
