The patient was admitted to the NICU due to prematurity, respiratory distress, and suspected sepsis. Laboratory analyses were done to exclude sepsis with a leukemoid-like reaction, Down syndrome by karyotype, leukemia, or other myeloproliferative disorders. Abstract
