Abstract
Ankle inversion sprains represents the most common musculoskeletal injury in the United States. Most of these injuries recover uneventfully with appropriate conservative management. A subset of patients do not heal adequately and develop chronic lateral ankle instability that requires surgical stabilization. Within this group of patients are those that will benefit from allograft reconstruction to augment the lateral ligamentous repair in cases of poor native tissue or high force demands on the ankle. The authors present their technique for lateral ankle ligament allograft reconstruction with semitendinosus allograft.
