Abstract

Summary: The name ×Rhipsatiora astra Urano is published here for the artificial crossed intergeneric hybrid between genera Rhipsalis Gaertn and Hatiora Britton & Rose. This is the first report of an intergeneric hybrid for both R. cereuscula Haw. and H. salicornioides (Haw.) Britton & Rose in L.H.Bailey. The intergeneric hybrid has similarities to both parent species in terms of morphological characteristics. It could occur in a natural habitat.
