Abstract
The environment-friendly one-pot condensation reaction of (Z)-4-benzylidene-2-methyloxazol-5(4H)-one with phenylhydrazine and (phenyliminomethyl)benzene in the presence of [BMIM]BF4 as medium at 80-85 oC for 1-1.5 h to form 4-(benzylidene/substituted benzylidene)-N-aryl amino-2-(styryl/substituted styryl)-1H-imidazole-5(4H)-one compounds with good yields.
