Redescription of Agrilus (Agrilus) piuraensis Juárez & González, 2017 (Coleoptera: Buprestidae: Agrilinae), with notes on its ecology and distribution in Peru

Abstract

Agrilus (Agrilus) piuraensis Juárez & González is redescribed and illustrated. Agrilus piuraensis was described from a single male specimen; however, after examining the holotype and additional material that we found in other collections, we concluded that the true sex of the A. piuraensis holotype is female. Notes on the ecology of A. piuraensis and new distribution data in Peru are provided. Additionally, the institution of deposit of the holotype is updated.
