Abstract

This paper analyzes the example (παράδeιγμα) in Aristotle’s Rhetoric and focuses on the relationship between it and the idea of similarity (τὸ ὅμοιον), which is essential also for the concepts of metaphor and comparison. Thus, the idea of similarity is used to explore the connection among all this resources, and also between analogy and induction.
