Abstract
Chronic pain is characterized as persistent, continuous or recurring events, with a minimum duration of three months and with biopsychosocial nature. Musculoskeletal complaints are present in 30 to 40% of the country's population and constitute an important public health problem. However, clinical interventions can be combined with educational health actions, as they are an alternative for transformation and incentive a bond connection between the multiprofessional team and users. The aim of the present study was to assess the prevalence of complaints of chronic musculoskeletal pain and to verify the influence between chronic pain and the integrative practices associated with educational health actions developed by the Multiprofessional Residence team in Primary Care and Family Health. This is a quantitative longitudinal study. The data were collected between January and April 2017, through an individual assessment and pain measurement. The therapy protocol was performed twice a week for one hour. The study included 25 patients. The prevalence of complaints of musculoskeletal pain in the lumbar spine region was reported by 80% of the participants before the intervention and in the last week after the intervention only 16% reported pain in this region. It was found that the integrative practices associated with Health Education using a multidisciplinary approach reduce complaints of chronic musculoskeletal pain.
