Abstract

Abstract Publication of a donkey sale from the University of Michigan excavations of Soknopaiou Nesos, which was drawn up through a little-attested notarial official with authority over both metropolite and village grapheia. The document helps clarify the process of notarial centralization in the Arsinoite nome of the late second century CE.
