Abstract

Pure erythroid leukemia is a rare type of acute leukemia, commonly seen in the elderly, with rapid clinical progression, short median survival, and poor prognosis. In this study, we analyzed the clinical manifestations, treatment process, and clinical diagnosis of a case of myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) transformed into pure erythroid leukemia, and reviewed the literature in conjunction with the revised classification of hematopoietic and lymphoid tissue tumors by the World Health Organization in 2016 regarding erythroid leukemia.
