Abstract

As the political science scholar Roland Bleiker has recently put it, ‘we live in a visual age . . . [the] omnipresence of images is political and has changed fundamentally how we live and interact in today’s world’. The Political Portrait: Leadership, Image and Power arrives at a time when visual images dominate the political landscape, especially through social media.
