Abstract

We have presented an inverse filtering scheme that can compensate absorption and dispersion caused by intrinsic attenuation in subsurface media with a heterogeneous model. We have adopted two methods to suppress high-frequency noise at the same time, one is to design a compensation operator with a fixed gain limit, and the other is to introduce an adaptive frequency-varying band calculation method. Papers are expected to be of a high standard. Exploration Geophysics uses an international pool of reviewers drawn from industry and academic authorities as selected by the editorial panel. The journal provides a common meeting ground for geophysicists active in either field studies or basic research.
