Abstract
: Grief is a normal process when faced with the loss of a significant person. Due to various factors, the symptoms involved in the process can intensify and persist in such a way that they interfere significantly in the life of the grieving individual, thus generating a complicated grief. The aim of the study was to evaluate a cognitive behavioral intervention aimed at improving emotional coping and decreasing depressive and anxious symptoms in a 32-year-old female patient with persistent complex grief disorder. For this, a single-case de-sign was used, which included an intervention program adapted to 16 sessions. Standardized scales were applied before and after treatment. Results indicated a decrease in depressive and anxious symptoms, an increase in emotional coping, and a decrease in avoidance beha-viors associated with death and reactive distress to death.
