Abstract
Fungal dacryocystitis is uncommon and usually occurs secondary to infection by Candida spp., Aspergillus spp., Curvularia and Pityrosporum spp. Although mostly seen in immunocompromised patients, it has been reported to involve immunocompetent patients. We describe a case of a fungal granuloma solely involving the lacrimal sac without sinus involvement in an immunocompetent infant. The patient responded to an excision biopsy.
