Abstract

ABSTRACT This study explores the role of hospital librarians; it details the work they perform and describes how they measure their work’s impact on hospital and patient outcomes. The author conducted face-to-face interviews with 15 hospital librarians from across the United States via Zoom and analyzed the data for common themes. Themes that emerged were resilience, continuous marketing, and a lack of a systematic approach to measuring librarian impact resulting from low user engagement and comprehensive feedback.
