The stack height depends on the sulphur content of the fuel or sulphur dioxidecontent, fuel firing rate, and the height of the tallest building within the affected area. Therefore,a new equation is developed to calculate the required minimum chimney height when sulphurcontent of the fuel and fuel consumption rate is known. Moreover, the equation is implementedto calculate the diameter of the flue gas stack. Abstract

The quality of the surface and groundwater significantly change with the ash disposal from theflue gas stack. Atmospheric sulphur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) are caused for acidrain produced from fossil fuel combustion.
