Abstract

The novel coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19) quickly spread from Wuhan, Hubei Province to the all other provinces in China, and globally since December 2019. Huangpu District of Shanghai is one of the communities where COVID-19 occurred earlier. By summarizing and reviewing experience and lessons learnt in Huangpu District, Shanghai, the article characterized the innovative public health interventions to prevent and control COVID-19 that may be of relevance to urban communities in other provinces and cities of similar size.
