Cirenaica durante la coyuntura post-alejandrina

Abstract

The present work aims to analyze the political events that occurred in the Cyrenaican region in the last three decades of the 4th century BC, that is, the period between the Asian expedition of Alexander III of Macedonia and the incorporation of the Greek cities of the Cyrenaica in the Ptolemaic Kingdom. The geopolitical role of these border communities, between the Hellenic and the Punic worlds, in this context has not been analyzed in depth by historiography, beyond specific episodes prior to the Ptolemaic annexation at the end of the century. Therefore, our objective is providing an overview of the events without falling into generalities.
