Poesía y materia mitológica en “El jardín de Lope de Vega”

Abstract

RESUMEN: La epístola VIII de La Filomena se estructura sobre la base de la descripción de un fabuloso vergel. Mediante la ecfrasis de las breves historias mitológicas que adornan los elementos de este espacio, la voz poética deja entrever abundantes reflexiones sobre problemáticas relativas a su particular visión de la poesía, su relación con otros poetas del campo (cruzada por la permanente queja frente a la envidia de sus colegas), la siempre compleja cuestión del mecenazgo y la gratitud de los poderosos y otras cuestiones vinculadas a su quehacer como poeta. En este trabajo, nos proponemos analizar la estrecha relación que existe entre los problemas enumerados y los núcleos míticos elegidos para su representación y descripción. ABSTRACT: Filomena´s Eighth Epistle contains the description of a fabulous garden. Through the ecfrasis of the brief mythological stories that adorn the elements of this space, the poetic voice reveals abundant reflections. The topics of those considerations point to problems related to his particular vision of poetry, his relationship with other poets (crossed by the permanent complaint against the envy of his colleagues), the complex question of patronage and the gratitude of the Nobels and other issues related to his work as a poet. In this paper, we propose to analyze the close relationship that exists between the problems listed and the mythical stories chosen for their representation and description.
