Abstract

Early detection of breast cancer is essential in managing patients with breast cancer; it is directly related to the type of therapy, outcome, prognosis and overall survivor3. Involvement of the axillary lymph nodes with malignant deposition is considered the most important prognostic element in recurrence and survival4,5. The number of the involved lymph nodes is directly proportionate to the ten-year survival of patients with breast cancer; survival reaches 90% if no lymph nodes were involved; 70% if one to three lymph nodes affected and as low as 30% if more than ten nodes affected6,7.
