Valuably, this book bestows a new vocabulary for scholars to continue to put Black and Indigenous thought into conversation. “Conquistadorhumanism,” “shoals” and “shoaling,” and “grammars of conquest” are some of the conceptual tools that will help scholars rethink the regimes of truth in Western intellectual thought, passed down through generations, that silenced counter-histories and occluded the ethical futures to come.
