Representações da morte nas narrativas midiáticas: a poética da novela Velho Chico

Abstract

This paper seeks to understand the representations of death present in the poetic narrative of the soap opera “Velho Chico” (Gshow, 2016), produced by Rede Globo. We start from the concepts of communication as an event, bonding and artifice, the last one based on the consciousness of mortality, phenomenon which distresses the human being and produces culture. Here, the soap opera is understood as a form of representation, interpretation, criticism and reconstruction phenomena of the world. The poetic aspects present in the representations of death in the soap opera Velho Chico, sensitively approach the mortality as a nature and culture phenomenon, aside from being the link between the narrative items and, more than this, the profound human link.
