Strengthening biosecurity and biosafety systems is an urgent need for continuing human existence

Abstract

A brief survey of some features of the SARS-CoV-2 virus is given, especially its ability to persist, under temperate conditions, in infectious form on surfaces, thereby contributing to prolongation of the COVID-19 pandemic. The notion of biosecurity is developed, requiring an integrated approach and global coöperation. © 2022 Collegium Basilea.
