This article recaptures the main aspects of the caipira culture in Cornélio Pires’ production and Carlos Alberto Soffredini’s theater – two authors in different times. In order to do this, it analyses the importance of the figure of Cornélio Pires in the diffusion about the rural world at the turn of the century, as well as some of his creations in the field of folk music and literature.
