Further, NiO-ZnOBi2O3 B2O3 glasses were investigated spectroscopic ally with Fourier-Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectra recorded for glass with different main oxide contents. The formation of B-O-Bi and B-O-Zn/Ni bridging bonds in the glass structure is suggested from FTIR spectra. Abstract

Among new low melting glasses, bismuthate glass is deemed to have the most potential. Current studies of these glasses focus on the thermal and structural influence of the additional oxide (NiO).
