House of Common’s reception – themes from the Thames

Abstract

The Institute of Health Promotion and Education celebrated its 60-year anniversary in 2022 and this culminated in a reception at the House of Commons in June 2023. We were honoured to be supported and hosted by Ms Karen Buck, MP on a beautiful sunny afternoon at the Terrace Pavilion. The views from the Commons over the Thames and towards the London Eye were stunning, and it was a picture-postcard perfect afternoon with clear blue skies over the water. We were grateful to our sponsors Taylor & Francis who supported the event as well as our administrative team at Pink Spaghetti, Wirral. As well as an introductory talk by Karen, which outlined exceptionally well the current health challenges in her constituency and proposals by her Party to address national health issues, we had speeches from our guest speakers.
