When he awakens, Harker is surrounded by “three young women” (41), whose “brilliant white teeth” shine “against the ruby of their voluptuous lips.” Harker, who feels “a wicked, burning desire that they would kiss” him “with those red lips,” is approached by one of the women (42). But, just as her sharp teeth touch his throat, Dracula storms into the room, shoving the women aside: “Back, I tell you all! This man belongs to me!” (43).
