Abstract

Abstract:Analyzing closely a selection of texts composed by the Middle High German poet known as Der Stricker—especially his Arthurian romance Daniel von dem Blühenden Tal (ca. 1220/30)—we can observe a remarkable transformation in the treatment of a literary protagonist’s approaches to major challenges in his life, apparently determined by rationality and reason.
