Abstract

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) or even those after renal transplantation. Radionuclide myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) is an available way to predict cardiac events and make risk stratification for CKD patients with cardiovascular diseases. Early detection and individualized treatment of patients with high-risk of cardiac events by MPI can prevent myocardial infarction and heart failure, thus improving the survival rate of this population.
