Carrero Blanco ante La gran baza soviética: ideología y discurso

Abstract

The Great Soviet Advantage is one of the volumes containing Carrero Blanco´ s speeches, which were broadcast on Spanish National Radio and published in 1949 under the pseudonym of ‘Juan de la Cosa’. This study offers a socio-discursive analysis of the Chapter entitled ‘Spain in the current world crisis’. Carrero presents the national-catholic postulates of Franco’s regime to analyse world events taking place at that time, aiming to downplay their links with the defeated fascist Nazi government and to take advantage of the Cold War Anticommunism. Secondly, the article exposes connexions of the analysed text with reports from Carrero himself.
