Symposium Introduction

Abstract

The guest editor of the Schools symposium in honor of Vivian Gussin Paley was drawn to Paley’s work as a reader of Paley’s books about the dynamics of play in the classroom. Paley’s writings have invigorated and inspired Hirsch, who edited the pieces in this symposium with profound gratitude.
