Efisiensi dan keterbatasan lahan menjadi pertimbangan untuk membangun pasar secara vertikal. Permasalahan yang sering terjadi adalah tidak berfungsinya lantai (ruang) di lantai atas bangunan sehingga sepi tidak ada aktivitas. Permasalahan yang telah diketahui tersebut hampir terus berulang seiring pembangunan pasar secara vertikal. Tidak adanya pertimbangan budaya berpasar masyarakat Indonesia mungkin menjadi salah satu kegagalan bangunan pasar vertikal. Penelitian ini akan mengkaji desain beberapa pasar vertikal di Bandung yang kurang maksimal dalam pemakaian ruang di lantai atas. Dari hasil kajian penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan gambaran mengenai mengapa area ruang lantai atas pasar vertikal cenderung tidak diminati.Kata kunci: Efisiensi Desain, Ruang Dalam, Pasar VertikalABSTRACTThe current market development leads much to vertical development. The absence of cultural considerations based on Indonesian society may be one of the failures of vertical market buildings. This research will examine the design of some vertical market in Bandung which is less than maximum in the use of space upstairs.
