Abstract

Will Smith s of Blame: Climate and Culpability in the Philippine Uplands is an important study that contributes to the recentring of climate-change narratives, from those of international policymakers, post-colonial states and lowland populations to those of upland groups most vulnerable to human-induced climate change that is not of their own making. The book is divided into an Introduction, four main chapters and a Conclusion. It draws on data from household surveys, participant observation, oral history interviews, as well as from colonial and post-colonial reports, memoirs, policy documentation and journal articles related to forestry and forest governance, among other sources.
