Helder Camara: Direitos Humanos e o movimento Ação, Justiça e Paz

Abstract

This work analyzes the performance of the Archbishop of Olinda and Recife, Dom Hélder Câmara, in favor of human rights during the civil-military dictatorship, highlighting his movement Action, Justice and Peace (AJP). The objective is to identify his and the AJP's actions, highlighting the fight in favor of the rights of the human person. The research is qualitative and uses circular letters and speeches by Dom Helder. Therefore, Helder Camara encouraged members of the Action, Justice and Peace movement to denounce and help those persecuted by the civil-military dictatorship.
