These findings are not explained by the content of the article and the authors were not able to provide original data that would support the integrity of their research. We have been informed in our decision-making by our policy on publishing ethics and integrity and the COPE guidelines on retractions. Toxicology Mechanisms and Methods is a peer-reviewed journal whose aim is twofold. Firstly, the journal contains original research on subjects dealing with the mechanisms by which foreign chemicals cause toxic tissue injury. Chemical substances of interest include industrial compounds, environmental pollutants, hazardous wastes, drugs, pesticides, and chemical warfare agents.
