Jurisdicción municipal e instancias reales en la Valencia moderna. Una aproximación desde las Decisiones de Francisco Jerónimo de León

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to study the relationship between municipal jurisdiction and royal power in the kingdom of Valencia proposed by the jurist Francisco Jeronimo de Leon at the beginning of the 17th century. We analyze the different ways of regal intervention, concerning mechanisms of configuration of the ruling groups as well as the control of municipal tax authorities in some spheres of municipal power that the magistrate justified in his legal work.
