Abstract

This publication presents the 19th-century deed of general visitation in one of the most unique religious buildings in Central and Eastern Europe, namely Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Kamianets-Podilskyi – the world's only Catholic cathedral with a minaret adjacent to it, which in turn is a characteristic element of Muslim mosques. The presented documents date back probably to 1866, although the inspector himself records it as 1860. In terms of its content, this deed can be divided into three parts. The first one presents a brief historical outline of the cathedral and a description of its interior and furnishings. The second part contains a detailed inventory list. The last part of the document includes a description of the parish property, a list of priests, organists and sacristans, members of the Cathedral Chapter and the order of services.
