Abstract
This article presents a theoretical and documentary review of the literature on leadership as a competence, the relationship between leadership competence at the managerial level and the public sector; correspondence that little has been studied in Colombia and that consequently it is pertinent to describe its incidence in the dynamics of state organizations.
