Abstract
Italian Studies has historically faced issues of inclusivity and representation. While Spanish and French academic departments have made relatively longer strides to include the cultures of Latin America and Francophone Studies in their curriculum — lending serious attention to the histories and effects of European colonialism — Italian Studies has long trailed behind, for reasons broadly considered in this special issue
