Abstract
Aquatic hyphomycetes are freshwater fungi characterized by their unique conidial forms. While studying this diverse group of fungi along the high-altitude regions of Uttarakhand Himalayas, Pleuropedium tricladioides Marvanová and Iqbal, freshwater fungi recovered as an endophyte from the roots of healthy riparian plants. It is the first time reported as a root endophyte as well as a new addition to Indian mycota. A detailed taxonomic description along with its occurrence and distribution is described and discussed.
