Abstract
Abstract. From seven parishes in the northwestern region of Louisiana, 1053 bees were collected representing 133 species in 36 genera. Prior to this survey, there had been no thorough sampling of the bee fauna in the entire northern half of the state. Twenty-three described and 6 undescribed species had not been reported from Louisiana previously. Most of these are known from adjacent states, whereas others had been known only from more distant locations. This study documents bee species' visits to ninety-three host plants.
