Abstract

The study aimed to analyze the spatial distribution of ATL in Tucuruí and its relationship with socio-environmental and epidemiological variables, from 2012 to 2016. Epidemiological data were obtained from SINAN da SESPA and the cartographic, population, conservation units and indigenous lands, were obtained from IBGE. The environmental were obtained from the INPE. The analysis of the cases and their spatial relationship with deforestation used Bioestat 5.0 and ArcGis 10.5.1, respectively. The municipality had 286 confirmed cases, distributed in a non-homogeneous way in its census sectors. The most affected individuals were males, adults, browns, low level of education and residents of the urban area. The historical series showed an increase in cases of ATL and an increase in deforestation. The spatial analysis showed the presence of two clusters of cases located in the urban area. It was also observed the existence of a mosaic of occupations and indigenous lands. The ATL is a large and complex public health problem in Tucuruí, related to socio-environmental risk factors, generated and conditioned by insufficient public policies in the municipality, which may have contributed to the exposure of the local population to various risk factors for the disease.
