The Wanderings of Hermann Struck's Ahasver: The Rediscovery of a Forgotten Painting and Its Evocative Transformation

We are also grateful to Yair Ben Uri and Tehila Koenigstein for providing us with important documents relating to Hermann Struck’s paintings in Israel. Prof. Sperber initiated the installation of Hermann Struck’s painting Old Jew in the Faculty of Jewish Studies in the late 1970s. The relief that hangs on the opposite side of Struck’s painting is Shmuel Soltz’s Pardes (1988).
