Abstract
This publication gives an account of the first results of an ethnographic investigation that seeks to know the future expectations of women in Argentina who are receiving conditional monetary transfers. With the aim of describing the life prospects that women/mothers build from their own experiences, an approach to the universe of their practices and representations was made using techniques such as surveys, in-depth interviews and tension theory from 2015 to 2017 in Parana, Argentina. The results indicated that future prospects for jobs and education show high percentages (29% and 27%, respectively). At the same time, care appears to be constant, shared with other options for the future that reflect the desire of women to participate in public areas, which allows them to think of “vanishing points” that go beyond the objectives and conditionalities of transfers, enabling feminist criticism about reinforcements of stereotyped gender roles.
