Abstract

Coronavirus is a family of viruses that has resulted in a worldwide pandemic. Covid-19 appeared in the city of Wuhan in China and reached Brazil. This study aims to understand the strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats related to the current epidemic of COVID-19 in Brazil in the development of strategies for the prevention and control of the new coronavirus. This is a scenario study of the COVID-19 epidemic in Brazil using the SWOT matrix analysis instruments. In the research method, a systematic literature review was carried out, using the Web of Science, Science Direct and Scopus databases, which resulted in the complete analysis of 17 articles. The conclusions for theory, practice and society point out the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats considering the particular context. This analysis allows a holistic assessment of the problem and can contribute to the development and direction of strategies for the prevention and control of the disease.
