Abstract

NOISE IS IT A PROBLEM? HE Report State of the World Environment from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP); obtainable from UNEP, PO Box 30552, Nairobi, Kenya; lists four emerging threats to our standard of life. They are (i) schistosomiasis, (ii) tourism, (iii) developing resistance to pesticides by insects and mites, and (iv) noise. Noise pollution now ranks high in the world’s hazards and this paper looks
