Abstract

Vaccination against influenza was found in geriatric patients to correlate with a reduced risk of death, hospitalization and costs on health system [Nichol et al. 1994]; vaccination against influenza is indeed recognised by the World Health Organization as an efficacious strategy to prevent the health-threatening effects of influenza viruses [World Health Organization, 2012].
