Vitamin D is a liposoluble vitamin and acts via an intracellular receptor. Abstract
Vitamin D is well known for its effects on bone metabolism, calcium and phosphorus homeostasis. Recently, a worldwide focus has been made on the extraskeletal effects of this liposoluble vitamin.
